You earn 1 point for every square you hop forward, so your score is really a distance record of how far you've made it. The goal is to see how many squares you can advance.
On rivers you must hop onto the floating logs — landing in the water means an instant game over. Watch out too, because riding a log off the edge of the screen also ends your run.
